Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal information HypnoBarn collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep things deliberately simple, because the information you share with us is often personal and sometimes sensitive, and we treat it with care.

Who we are

HypnoBarn is the clinical hypnotherapy practice of Lesley Gallagher, based on the shores of Loch Fyne in Argyll & Bute, Scotland. HypnoBarn is a trading name of Bouncebackability Ltd, which is the data controller responsible for your information. You can reach us at hello@hypnobarn.com.

What we collect

When you contact us or use this website, we may collect:

  • Enquiry details. When you complete our enquiry form, we collect your name, email address, telephone number, a description of what you would like help with, your preferred contact time, and, if you choose to tell us, how you heard about us.
  • Review details. If you choose to leave a review, we collect your initials, an optional town, your rating and your comments. We deliberately do not ask for your full name, so reviews stay anonymous.
  • Website usage. Like most websites, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. This relies on cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit and roughly where in the world you are. We use it only to understand site usage in aggregate, never to identify you by name, though under data protection rules this kind of information can still count as personal data.

The details you share when enquiring about therapy may touch on your health or wellbeing. This is treated as special category information and is only ever used to respond to you and, should you go on to work with us, to provide your care. It is never used for anything else.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange your appointment.
  • To provide hypnotherapy services to you, if you choose to go ahead.
  • To publish your review, but only after you have given consent and only once it has been approved. Reviews are shown with initials alone.
  • To understand, in an anonymised way, how our website is used so we can improve it.

We rely on your consent when you submit an enquiry or a review, and on our legitimate interest in running and improving the practice for our limited use of website analytics.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your information, and we never share it for marketing. Your enquiry is delivered to our practice inbox through our email provider, and our website is hosted by a trusted hosting provider. These providers process information on our behalf and only to keep the service running. We will only disclose your information beyond this if we are required to by law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry messages only for as long as needed to respond to you and, where relevant, to keep proper records of your care, in line with professional guidance. Whilst we are required to retain certain client records, anything we no longer need is securely deleted.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, and to ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You can also withdraw your consent at any time. To make any of these requests, simply email us at hello@hypnobarn.com.

If you are ever unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk. We would always prefer the chance to put things right first, so please do come to us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date shown at the top of this page.
